_You are about to enter another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead—your next stop, the Twilight Zone! Or possibly Cleveland.
But what is about to occur inside the plane is no reflection on the aircraft or the crew. It's a safe, well-engineered, perfectly designed machine, and the crew are a trained, highly efficient team. Unbeknownst to passenger and crew, this plane's intended destination may be unchanged...but the journey has taken it straight through an unchartered area well off the beaten track of commercial travelers...an area known as the Twilight Zone._
Alyssa Wilson stopped in the bathroom. Standing in front of the mirror, she checked her hair and uniform. She'd only been a flight attendant for a few months. It sounded like a glamorous job, and sometimes it could be. But like many jobs...it had its less than glorious moments. Seeing new places...exciting. Serving drunk passengers, not so fun. And her parents weren't exactly pleased with the decision. They had other plans for her.
She grabbed her bag and joined the rest of the cabin crew of Odyssey Flight 114. The cockpit crew was already onboard, doing their pre-flight checks. Meanwhile, in the gate area, the passengers were already assembling, waiting for their flight. Among them were Matt and Rachel Cameron, and their two children, Sophia and Jacob. The family was preparing to go on a trip.
They weren't the only people flying today. While the flight wasn't full, the gate area was hardly empty. Jacob looked idly at some of the people around them, noticing other kids, their parents, businessmen, a few airline employees in uniform, and others.
The gate agent announced they were going to begin boarding the flight, and the plane started to fill up with passengers. Before long, the plane taxied away from the gate, headed toward the runway, and took off. And nothing would be the same again.
