"Jen, that doesn't make any sense." Karyn said, following Jen down to her kitchen. "The stone may not be able to alter wishes made on it, but Ms. Holloway changed us, not the stone."

Jen reached her fridge and opened it, pulling out two bottles of water, and tossing one to Karyn. "Karyn, I only know what the stone told me. It can't undo Ms. Holloway's magic, because it was initiated by my wish. Reversing what she did would take away the 'something interesting' I wished for." Jen said, taking a sip once she finished.

"So...what do we do?" Karyn asked. "Ms. Holloway even said that she couldn't undo what she did to everyone."

"I...I don't think there's anything we can do." Jen said. "I think we may actually be stuck with this."

The pair sat in the kitchen, discussing their options when they heard the door open. A moment later, Jen's younger sister Zoe and her friend Athena walked into the kitchen. Jen and Karyn were prepared for the usual snarky comments that the pair usually had, but were surprised when they were actually engaged.

"Hey, did you two talk to Trinity today? I've tried texting her and she hasn't responded." Zoe said, going to the fridge and pulling out a couple of water bottles.

"Um...yeah. We saw her a bit. It was kind of a trying day." Jen said, trying to gauge the situation.

"Did it have something to do with that assembly your whole class got dragged to?" Athena asked. "I bet that had something to do with those dumb bitches who got expelled for drugs."

"Um, yeah. It kinda did..." Karyn said. She shrugged when she noticed a glare from Jen. "They'll hear sooner or later."

"Well, she better get her act together. The concert is tomorrow night, and she's our ride." Zoe said. "If you manage to get a hold of her before we do, try to snap her out of her shitty mood."

"Um, sure. Can do, Zo." Jen said.

"Thanks, sis. See ya later." With that, the two young goths headed upstairs, and a moment later, loud metal music began playing.

"That was bizarre." Karyn said. "Zoe seemed...mellow. She's usually a little gothic ball of rage."

"Yeah..." Jen said. "This must be a side effect of Ms. Holloway's magic. She did say reality was changed."

"True. I wonder why Zoe is nicer to you now." Karyn said.

"Who knows. Maybe..." Jen began, but was interrupted by the door opening again. Jen's mother and younger brother Mikey came into the house. Mikey ran past the pair, heading to the back yard while mumbling hellos, while Jen's mother slowly walked in.

"Hello, girls. How was your day?"

"Fine." the pair said, almost simultaneously.

"Karyn, are you going to be staying for dinner tonight?" Mrs. Madison asked.

"Oh, no Mrs. Madison. I should actually be getting home soon. Jen and I were just...working on something for school. I'll see you later, Jen." Karyn said, leaving the kitchen. A moment later, the front door opened and closed.

"Well, your father will be home soon, so I better get dinner started." Mrs. Madison said.

"Right. And I need to wrap up some homework so that I can actually enjoy the weekend." Jen said.

"Good for you, getting ahead."

"Yeah..." Jen said, leaving the kitchen. "Great for me."
