Athena and Biff were in love, to the old Athena it would have been sickening to watch how she fawned over him and how he smiled and held her. She never used to giggle. She had a giggle, it was the cutest part of her and if you poked her in the side she would, but she would get mad if you tried it. She hated being so ticklish, but everyone had a weakness. Now she giggled all the time, she giggled when he held her, she giggled when they kissed, she spent so much more time smiling that she ever had before in her life.
Biff was as happy as he ever was with Athena, he didn't remember Sarah at all by this point, all the parts of her having faded into Athena and the other girls, now there was just him and Athena.
It was different for Athena though, she remembered a time when they weren't meant to be together. She remembered a time when Biff would have called her a freak, and to be fair, she was a bit outlandish in those days, but this wasn't the problem for her, that girl had been overwritten with wealth, popularity, charm, and leadership skills of Sarah, and now she had become something more than that, and to be fair she had come to terms with it as well as magic allows you to.
No the problem for Athena is that she had never fallen in love with Biff. She felt love for him, she wanted him, because that was what she was supposed to do, it was a part of the spell that had been cast on her, a condition she had acquired, but it was never earned. She didn't have the memory of that first date, of the romance, of all of the things that would lead her to feel what she did feel for him, what she had were essentially the after effect of Sarah's feeling for Biff, now made her's. She loved him with stolen feelings.
So she worked over the summer to make those feelings her own. She baked for him, she made things, she would giggle for him, and she would love it. At first Biff was confused by the extra effort on her part, and he more than happily took it. She became more than just a pretty thing on his arm and became a part of his life, and he started to have more than simple love for her, and when for the first time he bought her flowers, because he felt like he should do something in return, she felt what she had been hoping for, she felt her own love.
