Athena saw the look on Zoe's stunned face. There was a moment of silence for them both to process her proposal. Did Zoe want a make over?"
To Athena it made sense, she saw the world much differently now that she was more or less one of the most important people in it. She was pretty, well liked, the best Cheerleader, a natural leader, wealthy, and well connected in the school. She was dating the most popular guy in the school, who was also the captain of the football team. She saw Zoe's Goth style as a problem, so why not change the problem, because she could. She felt a need to use her power for good, to improve the people around her, and being a goth just wasn't going to get Zoe anywhere.
"I mean, why are you a goth? Have you ever really thought about that?"
"I'm a Goth because things suck and i don't want to be just another factory outlet pink head, you know this Athena."
"Do you think that things have changed though? I mean this can't go on forever, eventually the combat boots and the ripped shirts and all the black are going to have to go. I can see this making sense when it was the two of us, you had someone to back you up, and I'm sure Stephanie will be there for you if you chose to stay the way you are, but do you really want that? Right now you're being offered a free chance to change your life."
"But I don't want to be a Cheerleader, I don't want to be pink and preppy, I just want to be myself. This is me, you can't just change it by dressing it differently."
"You don't have to be a cheerleader, I'm not asking you too be a cheerleader, I was made this by magic, and it's really great, but you can be whatever you want to be, you don't have to push everyone away by being..."
"what a freak? Where you just going to call me a freak?"
"No! I wasn't going to call you that." even though she almost did. "I was going to say by being so different. What's that gaining you other than alienation? I'm saying that there is a happy medium between what you are and what i am, and i think you would be happy there. That's all."
Zoe was upset, she had a lot to think about, she felt betrayed, she felt abandoned, and worst of all she knew that what Athena was saying was a little bit right.
"I've got to go." Zoe said.
"At least think about it, we could go and get your hair done and have a girls day, you'll be in complete control i promise."
"I'll have to think about it." and she left the room quickly she didn't want to hear anymore, it was scaring her, and her reaction was scaring herself. Could she give up on her Goth life? What would that mean?
