Then, suddenly, he had an idea. He picked up the phone and called his secretary, Debbie Stern. "Debbie, can you find out in each of the classes we need staffed the names of the five students doing the best in those classes, so I can whittle them down?"
He'd call it an experiment, and give them extra credit.
