Athena began to moan, which grabbed Jon's attention. "Are you okay?" he asked her.
"I ... I think so," she said, weakly. "Thank you for helping me. You didn't have to."
"I think I did," Jon said. "If I didn't, that Paul guy could have killed you. Or at least seriously injured you."
She sat up a bit and looked around. By now, all the people who wanted to get out of the cafeteria had already done so and the hallways were clear. The only people still around were Jon, Athena, and all the changed ones still in the lunch room. Jon hoped that they would all stay there, until he could figure something out.
"Do you think you can walk?" he asked Athena.
"I don't know," she answered.
"Try. Because I don't want to be around when they come out of the lunch room."
Athena nodded, then tried her best to stand up.
