The old man's next stop was an office building just down the road. This one was a five-floor building, one of the tallest in downtown Lake Point (the tallest was the hospital, at seven floors). He drove into the parking area and parked his car close to the building, then got out.
The information he got about his next client told him that her name was Nicole Simmons and that her office was on the fifth floor. She was one of the assistant executives in the company she worked for. And from the short summary of her problem, the old man gathered that she had an opportunity to become a full partner with the head of the company Michael Vance. There was only one problem: Dan Steinman. He was also up for the job and Nicole knew that he would never back down, no matter what she did to persuade him. She knew that he could never be as good a partner to Vance as she could and with the old man's help, she hoped that she could "remove" Dan from the competition. She had worked too hard to have this opportunity slip right through her fingers.
After meeting with Nicole, who the old man noted was quite stern, he asked where he could find Dan Steinman. At the age of almost fifty, Nicole didn't look very feminine, choosing to wear a frumpy business pantsuit and a bare minimum of make-up. Her short black hair was even going gray. But as always, the old man chose not to judge his clients. Although he did have to wonder how she came to know of his services. A woman like Nicole didn't fit the usual profile of his typical client. She was far too ... conservative.
Nicole showed him where Dan's office was and he proceeded to enter it. Nicole smirked to herself. It looks like I'll get that promotion after all, she thought, then turned around and walked back to her office.
