When Vicky finally awoke, she was confused. She looked around and saw that the old man was gone. How long was she asleep? Why was she asleep? She jumped up out of her chair suddenly and looked at the clock. It was already well past two o'clock. She had to get back to work!
She quickly left the conference room and looked around frantically. No one seemed to be looking for her. She sighed with relief, then headed back to her office. On the way, she spotted the guys she was flirting with earlier. She loved flirting with guys. Well, she just loved flirting, period. She was a hot woman and she knew it. It would have been a shame to not flaunt that.
The guys smiled at her and she smiled at them. But then she spotted someone out of the corner of her eye. She turned and saw that queer woman Ricki DeGaul. A thought suddenly popped up in her mind. She doesn't have any friends. That's not right. Before she spotted Ricki, she was going to meet up with the two guys and flirt with them a little more, but now she found herself walking towards Ricki's cubicle instead.
The two guys looked a little confused, but shrugged their shoulders and walked away.
"Uh ... it's Ricki, right?" Vicky asked, as she approached. Ricki. Strange name for a woman. But she is a lesbian, she thought.
"Excuse me?" the somewhat chubby woman asked, looking up at her.
"Your name. It's Ricki, right?"
"Yes, that's right," she said. In the back of her mind, Ricki was already ecstatic. She's actually talking to me! she thought.
"You don't have a lot of friends, do you?"
"No, I don't. Most people shy away from me because of my ... sexual preferences."
"You mean because you're a lesbian."
She nodded.
"That's awful," Vicky said. She knew that she had treated her just as badly as everyone else. But for some reason, she suddenly had a change of heart. She now regretted how she had treated Ricki. Wasn't it bad enough that she had no friends? Did everyone have to ridicule her for her sexual choices as well?
"Was there something you wanted?" Ricki asked, breaking Vicky out of her thoughts.
"I ... I wanted to know if you wanted to do something ... after work, I mean."
Ricki made herself look a little stunned. She knew why Vicky was acting this way. It was because of the old man. But she couldn't let Vicky know that.
"It's just that ... you need a friend ... and ..."
Ricki smiled. "Thanks," she said. "Thanks for trying to be my friend."
Vicky smiled weakly. Part of her found it strange that she even wanted to socialize with someone like Ricki, but another stronger part insisted that she try her hardest to be Ricki's friend ... her best friend. Of course, since Ricki didn't have any friends to begin with, becoming her best friend wouldn't be too difficult.
"I'll meet you at your office after work, then we can plan out our evening," Ricki said.
"Okay," Vicky said, then returned to her office.
Ricki smiled. She's mine.
