Jon looked up at the clock. He was in his last class of the day, but still there was nothing "interesting" happening ... that could obviously be caused by a magic stone, that was. All day, he was becoming more and more restless. Why hadn't he just wished to know what his wish had done, right after making the wish? He shook his head, frustrated.
He looked up at the clock again, waiting for it to say 2:30 PM. Then school would be out for the day and he could rush home to the wishing stone. Right now, the clock said 2:02 PM. Still another half hour to go.
The old man left the insurance company and walked to his car. His next stop was Elizabeth Raiford's house. But he didn't need to be there until four o'clock and that was two hours away. So, he decided to ...
His thoughts were cut off suddenly as his phone beeped. He picked it up and looked at the small screen embedded in it. "Another one?" he uttered, yet again surprised by yet another new client. He scrolled through the information on the screen and saw where the client wanted to meet. Oddly, just like the others that day, his newest client was in this very town. What was the chance of that?
"Well, it looks like my plans have changed," he muttered, tossing the phone next to his briefcase and starting up the car.
