Jon got his food and sat down at his usual table, with Karyn.
"What did Stacy have to say?" she asked.
"She remembers being Steve. You should have seen her. When she found out that I knew who she really was, she acted like I was her new best friend."
"Well, if she thought no one else knew, I guess that makes sense." It was still hard for Karyn to think of Stacy as a guy. But she knew the power of the stone. She knew it was possible.
"Someone who was involved with turning Steve into a girl was in my last class. I told Stacy that I'd see if I could learn anything from her."
"Did you?"
"No. But I promised her I'd keep her updated ..." he said, looking around the cafeteria, trying to spot Stacy. "Hmm. I don't see her." He stood up to get a better look and that's when he spotted an overweight boy munching down on a double helping of food. He seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place him.
He sat back down, then looked at Karyn. "Who's that fat kid eating like a pig?"
"What? You mean Jason Alder? You've seen him before."
Jason Alder?! Jon thought. That was the name he heard over the PA system. Someone told him to come to Room 21. They must have done something to him. Because the Jason Alder he knew was a very fit athlete.
Apparently, Steve wasn't the only victim.
