Jon proceeded to his next class, computer science, and took his seat. He arrived a few minutes early, and had beaten the teacher.
He looked up and saw Zelda Whitefield, his sister Zoe's friend, enter the room. Normally, only seniors took this class, but apparently Zelda was really good with computers, so she was taking it as a sophomore. She had even once told Jon about how she had hacked some sites for fun.
She dressed a bit strangely, mostly in outfits that looked like they came out of a Sci-fi movie, but the same could be said for all of Zoe's friends. They weren't a bad group of kids, they just wanted a way to express themselves. Today, she was wearing a silver colored body suit. She was quite the sight to see, especially with her blue dyed hair.
"Hey Jon." Zelda said. "Excited to meet the new teacher?"
"Uh, yeah." Jon said. "Real excited..."
"What's the matter with you?" Zelda asked.
"Don't worry about it, Zelda." Jon said. Some of Zoe's friends were into the occult, like her best friend Athena, but Jon still thought the whole situation with Stacy would sound crazy.
Zelda gave Jon a curious look, but said no more on the subject. She figured it was something with one of the other classes or something. Besides, it wasn't really her business.
After a few more minutes, a woman walked into the class. "Good morning everyone." she said. "I am Ms. Fletcher, and I am your new computer science teacher." the woman said.
That was something that was bothering Jon. The old teacher had done a pretty good job teaching them, and had just up and left the school for apparently no reason. Perhaps Ms. Fletcher and her 'reality hacking' had something to do with it.
Ms. Fletcher wrote the assignment for the day on the board and sat at her desk, apparently to do some work. Jon got his work done, though he was having a hard time focusing on it. This woman, who apparently had near infinite power at her disposal was just sitting there, typing away at her computer. It bothered Jon even more to think that she had already potentially claimed a victim other than Stacy.
The entire period went without much happening, and the bell seemed to ring faster than it should have to Jon. He hadn't learned anything this period that could help. I'll just need to ask the stone. Stacy will just need to stay as she is until then. he thought.
Once Jon left the room, he took a deep breath. Maybe I should go get it now before she strikes again... He was taken away from his thoughts by Zelda.
"Jon, are you sure you're okay. You seemed distracted during class. Zoe told me about your grandfather, is this about him?" she asked.
"No, not...not exactly." Jon said. "It's just...it's nothing, really. Don't worry about it."
"All right..." Zelda said, turning to head to her locker. "I'm gonna go meet up with Zoe and the others for lunch. Oh, and don't forget to do your homework. Ms. Fletcher seems like she may be really strict when it comes to things like that."
Yeah, maybe too strict. Jon thought as he headed off to the cafeteria. He needed to meet up with Karyn, and unfortunately report to Stacy that she hadn't learned a single thing.
