As she stood there, more students walked by. And it was at this time that Sarah heard someone say "Hi, Sydney." Sarah immediately turned her head towards the voice and saw a stranger.
It was another girl she'd never seen before. And the girl was doing a double-take. "Jeeze, Sydney, what the hell are you wearing? If Mom and Dad see you like that they'll start laying out your clothing. You didn't leave the house like that."
Sarah frowned. Was this Sydney's sister? Sarah was an only child. This girl had dark hair, and was wearing loose comfortable, yet clean clothes. So she looked like half the average girls in the school. No wonder Sarah hadn't noticed her.
"Where are your regular clothes? Did you stash them in your locker?" The older girl demanded. She looked to be a senior, and her tone was certain to the point that Sarah wasn't sure what she should do.
The girl, who she would later learn was Sydney's...her...sister Amanda, urged her down the hall.
