As the next bell rang, Sarah split off from her friends again. She had gym last period. Along with Karyn, Jon, and Biff. It occurred to Sarah that Karyn and Jon didn't have gym in her previous life, but she now guessed they were more interested in it now.
Karyn was the center of the world as far as the locker room was concerned, talking to everyone as she changed from her halter top and skirt into a sports bra, loose T-shirt, and shorts. Sarah changed more meekly in the corner. She knew that she had always done all the things Karyn was now doing, but now it just felt... undignified somehow.
Sarah found Jon as quickly as possible once they got out. "Did you think of something?" she asked.
"Yeah," Jon said, "Don't worry about it. Just go home after school, and I'll get to your place after I finish practice."
"I have to wait that long?" Sarah whined.
"It's just one more class, and then you can keep yourself away from other people until I show up," Jon said, "You know, this whole thing is pretty weird for me, too. I mean, all my friends are girls now. Aside from Biff, and I still feel weird thinking of him as a friend. I dunno, it's just really strange."
Sarah sighed and resigned herself to finding an unoccupied corner of the gym all class, when she was hit by another headache, her third in less than an hour.
When she turned around, Jon was no longer wearing the normal boy's gym uniform. In fact, he wasn't wearing the normal boy's anything. As Sarah stared at Jon's back, she saw a white baby-T, with a shiny red triangle of stretchy material poking out underneath.
In shock, Sam ran back to Jen and grabbed her shoulder. The girl turned around, showing her now very feminine figure to the newly re-minted boy. "What are you wearing?" the Belgian boy asked.
"Sam," Jen gave him a screwy look, "You know Coach Barry lets me dress out in my leo, 'cause I go straight to my gym after school."
Sam brought his head closer to Jen's and whispered, "but you were a boy a minute ago. We switched."
Jen's eyes widened. "Shit, Sam. The more complicated this gets, the harder it'll be to fix. Can you go somewhere and write down a list of everything that's changed for you today?"
Sam nodded and jogged over to Coach Barry, saying she felt sick today and wanted to get study material from the locker room. Felicia Barry gave Sam an odd look and said, "Why are you asking me? Coach Burlington has the keys to the boy's locker."
Sheepishly, Sam slunk over to Coach Burlington and repeated the request.
