I have no intent at all to make it suddenly-resolved, and I did intend for Anneza to notice all too clearly that a changed is helping her (thus also helping the repentance thing). As I said, teaching someone a new language, even when you know their native language (and Lucas very much DOESN'T know whatever language it is Anneza's now speaking), takes time, so this is quite far from a quick resolution.
Plus there's the detail that the gods themselves cannot interfere - or at least cannot interfere much - in a Sun change. So I figured getting someone to teach her would be best (maybe along with the whole "resetting language acquisition" thing?).
If you think a rewrite is really needed, I can redo it, though, sure.
