She turned and walked away without a word. She was heading away from Kyla when suddenly someone stuck out a leg and tripped her. The hallway erupted with laughter.
Kyla walked up to her and offered her a hand to help her up. "Are you all right?" She asked.
She rejected it, and another headache hit her, this one stronger than the last. When it passed, she could feel something strange in her mouth. Metal. She'd grown braces. It was fairly obvious now what was happening to her. As impossible as it seemed, she was becoming a geek.
"Sarah?" Kyla asked, reaching for her hand again.
Sarah moved away. "Stay away from me!" she said. Unused to the braces, she accidentally spat as she said it.
"I'm trying to help you," Kyla said.
"I don't want your help."
Then the mother of all headaches hit. This one was so strong that Sarah actually collapsed onto the floor and fell unconscious. After what was happening to her, though, she almost wished she would never wake up.
