"Awaiting instructions," robot Sarah said again, but this time the voice was muffled a bit.
Karyn peeked out of the closet and waited for Jon to walk by. His locker was in this hallway, so Karyn was sure he'd walk by at some point.
When he finally did, she grabbed him, pulling him into the closet. She showed him the robot, looking like something out of a 50s Scifi movie, rather than a sleeker modern human-like android.
'Sarahbot' stood there, naked, which really wasn't an issue as she had a completely androgynous body.
"That's Sarah. She turned into a robot," Karyn said. "Have you been using the stone?"
"I didn't wish for this," Jon insisted.
Jon looked her over and took the disc out of her chest. It had that day's date, and Sarah McMillan printed on it, and the word backup. "Maybe we should get this into a computer," he suggested.
"Awaiting instructions," 'Sarahbot' said.
"Follow only my instructions or Karyn's," Jon said. "And do not say Awaiting Instructions again," he told the bot.
It grew silent.
