As Nurse Williams and Nurse Robinson continued to talk, Jon slipped away and carefully walked down the hall. Then he turned into his hospital room.
"Karyn, I need to talk to you," he said, walking into the room.
But it wasn't Karyn who was sitting next to the bed. It was a man ... perhaps almost thirty years old? He was dressed in a black suit and tie. Actually, he kind of looked like one of those agents from the movie "Men in Black". But he didn't recognize him.
The man stood up and approached Jon. "I know you're not a nurse."
"Wh-what?" Jon said, surprised. "Of course I'm a nurse."
"No, you're not," the man said. He lifted up a strange looking device, about the size of an iPod. The man looked at the readout on it, then looked back at Jon. "Definitely not."
"Listen, I don't know what ..."
"I think you know exactly what's going on. Your name is Jon Everett and you are possessing that body. It's not yours to take, Mr. Everett. Please, vacate it right now, or suffer the consequences."
"I ... I don't know how. It was just an accident," Jon said, trying to explain.
"I don't think so," the man said. "I think you wanted to escape, so you took this woman's body to get away."
"Do you think if I wanted to escape that I would take a body like this?"
The man paused, realizing that Mr. Everett could be right. If he had the pick of any person in the vicinity, he could have picked someone a bit more physically fit. But on the other hand, it was the perfect body to hide out in. No one would suspect that he would take an unfit body. But which was it? Was Mr. Everett in complete control of his power? Or was he just possessing other people by accident?
