Jon concentrated hard, thinking about his own body, envisioning it in his mind ... but nothing happened.
Suddenly, the supply room's door opened and another nurse walked in, startling Jon. It was a nurse he hadn't seen yet, so he didn't know her name. She was African-American and was a little heavyset.
"What you doin' in here, girl?" she asked.
Jon blinked and suddenly his perspective changed. He was looking directly at Nurse Williams. But that would only mean ...
"Hazel?" Susan said, blinking. "What am I doing here? I ... I was in the examination room." She paused. "Oh no. It happened again. I had another blackout."
"Blackout?"
"I'll tell you later. Right now, I have to find Doctor Mitchell." She moved past Jon and headed out into the hallway. Thinking it was best to keep close to her, Jon decided to follow her.
He still wasn't sure how he did it, but somehow he jumped into this Hazel woman's body. It was definitely a different experience than being Susan, but not too different. He still had to walk in high heels, while feeling all of the different sensations coming from a woman's body, like her jiggling breasts, for instance. But Hazel's body, unlike Susan's, was a bit overweight. He was heavier, causing him to concentrate even more on trying to not fall over as he walked.
Jon kept following Susan all the way back to the nurse's station, where Nurse Robinson was still stationed. The nurse stood up from behind the counter and looked at Susan. "Where did you go? Phoebe said you weren't in examination room five."
"I was. Dr. Mitchell was performing a scan, but then I blacked out again. And when I came back, I was in a storage room, apparently talking to Hazel here," she said, gesturing towards Jon. "Where is Dr. Mitchell? Why didn't he stop me from leaving?"
"No one's seen him. Phoebe's looking for him right now. Apparently, that Everett boy slipped back into a coma again."
"Again? Isn't that twice now?" Susan asked.
"His friend is in there right now, hoping to wake him, but he's comatose, not asleep. Still, maybe having someone to listen to might do something to help."
Jon turned away and looked down the hall towards his room. His friend was there? Could she mean Karyn? He had to get in that room and talk to her.
