Actually

Heh...actually it was more just me scrounging around for a good angle on the setting. There may have been some Ghostbusters influence as with the KoL link, but it was actually more directly inspired by The Stone Tape, a BBC production by the same writer that gave the world Quatermass and the Pit, which is also excellent. (And which itself inspired a character spoiler I may or may not follow through on...haven't really decided. Good Lord, but there's a lot of obscure British science fiction influence in this story.)
