"They said you slipped back into a coma," Nurse Williams said.
"Uh, yeah. That's what they said." Jon paused, waiting for her to say something about him possessing her. But from the way she was acting, Jon figured that she didn't remember anything. He sighed inwardly, thinking that he had dodged a bullet. And a moment later, his suspicions were confirmed.
"Oh, there you are," Dr. Mitchell said, walking into the room. "Nurse, let's go to examination room five. We'll figure out what's causing your blackouts. Don't worry." Then they both left the room.
So, the nurse thought she blacked out. It was for the best. Better that she not remember anything than remember that someone else was possessing her body. Especially someone who was a patient in her hospital, someone who couldn't leave his room or make a run for it.
Jon yawned. He was so tired. He drifted off the sleep.
"Have you had any blackouts before?" Dr. Mitchell asked, after they entered the examination room.
"Not that I know of. But from what Mary tells me, I was fully awake and even talking to people. It's more like I'm missing certain memories. Short-term memory loss perhaps?" Susan suggested.
"Let the doctor make the theories, nurse," Dr. Mitchell said, smiling.
"Oh, yes, of course. It's just that nothing like this has ever happened to me before. It's very ... disconcerting."
"Understandable," he said. "Now, just lie down and we'll activate the scan momentarily."
"Yes, Doctor," she said.
