"That was some restroom break," the nurse behind the counter said.
Susan was confused. "What are you talking about?" she asked, as she approached.
"You went to use the restroom over a half an hour ago. I was about to go check on you," said the nurse, whose name was Mary Robinson.
"Mary, I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't leave to use the restroom. One moment I was here, then the next I was outside by the parking lot. I ... I think I must have blacked out or something."
"Are you serious? You don't remember anything?"
Susan shook her head.
"But we had conversations with you. You even talked to Phoebe. She said you looked a little out of it. I guess she was right." She paused. "What time was it before you blacked out?"
Susan told Mary what the time was. She remembered checking her watch about a minute before she blacked out.
"That was right around when the Everett boy slipped back into a coma."
"He did what?"
"You really don't remember, do you?" Mary reached for the phone. "I'm calling Doctor Mitchell. I think you might have a problem."
"More than one, I think," Nurse Williams said. Did she really just lose over a half hour of her memories?
Jon was still worried about what was happening, but he was also relieved to be back in his own body, even if he was restrained to staying in bed. It was so weird being in that nurse's body. Actually, he might not mind doing it again, if he knew that he wouldn't be stuck there. At the moment, it felt like sheer luck that he was able to return to his own body. Now, if he could switch bodies at will ... that would be a whole different thing.
Nurse Williams poked her head into his room, startling him. He suddenly became nervous, wondering how much of it she remembered. He was pretty sure that she wouldn't like being possessed by another person, especially a guy.
Jon braced himself as she walked into the room.
