Victoria had assumed that she'd be headed home pretty much as soon as she had finished up her business at the mall, but she couldn't have been more wrong. As it turned out, the better part of the day was to be spent "tying up loose ends" as her mother had called it. In fact it was a good thing that they had started shopping as early as they did, otherwise there wouldn't be time to accomplish the other neccessary (but far more tedious) things which needed doing. After leaving the mall, Victoria, Zoe and their mother stopped in at a restaurant. Even after all of the massive transitions that she had gone through over the past two days, Victoria was still surprised to find that even her taste in food had now changed.
Jon had been a carnivore, through and through; he had been a simple man with simple tastes: burgers. Fries. Pizza.
Victoria, as in so many things, was completely different. As she had sat down at the restaurant, she had planned to order what she usually got at this restaurant: a steak sandwich. But as she was looking at the menu, it suddenly occured to her that she didn't really feel like a steak sandwich. Indeed, the thought of eating a steak sandwich suddenly seemed completely distasteful to her. So she ordered a chicken stirfry instead, and, as if to add insult to injury, she found that it was the vegetables, not the chicken, which she found to be the most delicious part of the meal. Her mother seemed pleased to see this, noting that it was proper for a young lady to watch what she ate anyways (this, of course, prompted Zoe to role her eyes mercilessly). The other major change was that their waiter at the restaurant, a man in his early twenties, had actually been flirted with her. She wasn't sure of it at the time (having never had a man flirt with her before), but her sister confirmed it afterwards.
Not that it mattered; Victoria may have been a woman, but the thought of having sex with a man still seemed every bit as disgusting to her as the idea of eating a steak sandwich now did.
