Honestly I'm less concerned with the idea of people writing about FB (or Iridescent Sun) on TV Tropes than I am at the idea of their obsessively categorical checklist nature of looking at things filtering back here in the process. Even though they themselves admit that none of it is gospel, there seem to be a lot of people who write from the perspective that it is and try to jam together a lot of prefab elements simply for the sake of having them. That kind of cargo-cult writing deeply irks me, mostly because it's lazy, but also because one thing I've tried hard to do in Iridescent Sun is to not just write everyone and everything according to the standard quasi-canonical interpretation.

To take just one example, the article lists Sarah as "Alpha Bitch." This is something I was never very fond of in the quasi-canon (it's a kind of "let's drag our adolescent resentments into the stories we tell later in life when we theoretically should have matured past that crap" characterization that particularly grates on me,) and I've tried hard to make Iridescent Sun's Sarah more than just a cardboard cut-out, even though she's not a particularly major character. She can be bitchy, and there's some implication that she was moreso before her change made her more dependent on others, but she's mostly just irascible and a bit self-centered. She's definitely not a surrogate target for anybody I didn't get along with in junior high (particularly as I was homeschooled.) So while that generalization might be accurate for a large volume of content here on FB, it's wildly inappropriate for Iridescent Sun.

I'm not hugely irked by its inappropriacy for my particular small corner of the site or anything, but if someone were to come here from TV Tropes, figure they know the characters because they've read the article, and start writing at wild variance with what things are actually like, I'd start to get pretty annoyed - even though I'm by and large not territorial about my branches of the story. That's the kind of thing I'd hate to see come out of this.
