Nurse Rachel Oakley shook her head as she looked at her two newest charges. This was the sixth time today, and it was only lunchtime. Students were coming to her left and right, complaining about searing headaches. While she had little experience outside of college, she had never heard of anything like this. Not only were the students having headaches, but their friends were saying that they had been acting rather strangely prior to the headaches.
She frowned, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she examined her latest patients, a boy and a girl.
Based on her previous cases, these two were exhibiting prime examples of acting strangely. The girl, who she had seen around the school several times, had her blonde hair styled a little differently than usual and she was wearing makeup and carried a purse over her shoulder. From what Rachel had heard, the girl rarely wore makeup and was considered a tomboy, often clashing with the head cheerleader because of their similarities in appearance.
The boy, on the other hand, seemed normal enough. That was until you looked at his fingernails. Instead of the short and tatty nails that you would expect from a boy of his age, they were neatly trimmed and almost turquoise in color.
The nurse sighed. There wasn’t really a lot that she could do except to have them sit back while she placed a cold towel over their heads. In the meantime, she decided to report this to the principal.
