"There's one more problem," Jon said.
"What is it?" Wendi asked.
"When a wish is granted, you glow."
"I glowed when I was a stone too."
"Yeah, but that was different. You were smaller and I could hide you better." Jon had to stop himself for a moment. Having a conversation with this girl was strange, to say the least. To talk about her as if she used to be an inanimate object was weird, although that's exactly what she was, before she became a girl.
"If it's a problem, Jon, just touch me and make a wish."
Touch me. He had been waiting for a girl to say that to him for years. But this wasn't the situation he was waiting or hoping for. Yes, Wendi was a girl, but mentally, she was the stone. Nothing more, nothing less.
Except, something told Jon that maybe she was more of a person than he originally thought.
He held her hand and said "I wish that the only person who would see you glow when you're granting a wish would be the one making the wish."
Wendi's body (not her clothes) glowed.
"That's better," Jon said.
