Jon drove up the ramp and they saw nothing but gray.
"You have got to be kidding me," Jon said.
The pane of glass covered the tunnel behind them and water poured over it, returning the lake to its former appearance.
There was nowhere to drive. There was just a gray wall.
They got out of the car and looked around. Although, there wasn't a lot to look at.
Jon walked up to the wall and touched it. "It's concrete. I think." He looked to his left and to his right. The wall seemed to surround the lake, staying just about twenty or thirty feet from the edge of the water. From what Jon could see, the wall went all the way to the horizon, both ways.
"So, now what?" Sarah said, seeming to slip back into her usual demeaning attitude.
Jon didn't know. He was hoping that it would be obvious to him, or maybe the old man would show up. They waited around for at least ten minutes, but there was still no answer.
They were at a dead end, and the only way to go now was back the way they came.
