Sarah had never felt so helpless. She was always so in control. But here, she wasn't. Something was happening that was out of her control. And she had to rely on two people she never thought she'd have to rely on.
"So, what do we do now, genious?" Sarah asked Jon, still sounding demeaning.
Jon gave her an irritated look, then said "I think we should stay here and rest. It's better than the side of the road. Maybe there's some food in here. We could eat and then take the rest with us."
"But what if the owner of the cabin comes back?" Karyn asked.
"What if there is no owner?" Jon said. "I'm willing to bet that this cabin was put here just for Sarah."
"Just for me?"
"Why not? The old man said that the corn fields were here just for me. It's just what I think, that's all." The more Jon had to think about this whole situation, the more he kept thinking that he was on some sort of a quest. Every now and then he would be joined by other travellers, just like some sort of an RPG, except for real. First Karyn and now Sarah. It was only a theory, but it made sense.
