As they walked down the hall, Sarah said "I wonder where Steve is."
"Who's Steve?" Zoe asked.
Sarah stopped. "Steve Farber. You know, your boyrfiend."
"Steve Farber is my boyfriend?"
"Zoe, really. Are you okay? Did you bump your head or something? Because you've been acting really strange all morning," Sarah said. She moved her head away to look at something, then said "Oh, there he is now."
Zoe turned to look and her mouth dropped open. Although Steve Farber wasn't an athlete, he was still part of the popular crowd, mainly because of his relationships with a lot of the popular girls. Even if he wasn't into sports, he was very muscular and masculine.
Zoe watched as the "new" Steve Farber approached her. He was a lot paler and lankier than before (like most of the "new" Goth boys at the school, including Biff) and noticably androgenous, especially with what he was wearing. He wore a black underbust corset, but no shirt underneath. And instead of jeans, he wore a long black worn skirt. Zoe could see the black boots sticking out from underneath the skirt. He had short spiky black hair and he wore black eyeliner, lipstick, and nail polish. And he wore a gothic necklace, which cascaded down his chest. If Zoe hadn't known that it was a boy, she could have sworn that it was a girl.
"Hey, baby," Steve said, putting his arm around Zoe. She still couldn't believe that Steve was her boyfriend. Then she thought of something. What had happened to her boyfriend from the previous reality? He was Goth before, so wouldn't he be some sort of athlete or something in this reality? He didn't go to this school, but rather the high school in the next town over. So, Zoe wouldn't be able to check up on him. Not yet, anyway.
Zoe stopped at her locker (with Steve still hanging around) to drop off her stuff before she went to her first class.
