When Zoe caught up with Athena and Zelda, they turned towards her.
"What do you want?" Athena asked. She was obviously perturbed, which took Zoe by surprised, because they never spoke to each other like that.
"I ... I just wanted to know if we could still be friends."
Zelda laughed. "You've got to be kidding. I don't want to be friends with a Goth. Especially you."
Was I a mean person in this reality? Zoe gulped. Like Sarah.
"Just go away and leave us alone," Athena said, turning back around and walking away. Zelda turned around and followed. It was weird seeing them wearing pink girly clothes.
"But ..."
Sarah walked up to her from behind. "Why are you talking with those freaks?"
"They're not freaks," Zoe said.
"Really? Then what are they? They certainly aren't Goths. That's for sure," Sarah said, in her usual demeaning tone. Sarah grabbed Zoe's arm and turned her around. Zoe's eyes scanned over Sarah again, still stunned by the fact that she was a Goth girl now. Then she looked past Sarah and saw other students the were as gothic as Sarah and Biff. They were the ones that used to be the cheerleaders and jocks. Normally Zoe would be thrilled that there were so many Goths at school. But the people who became Goths kept their original personalites. Biff was still a womanizer and Sarah was still a bitch. And they all still picked on the unpopular crowd.
And now Zoe was part of the popular crowd.
"Come on," Sarah said, pulling Zoe with her. She looked back over her shoulder at the two new cheerleaders Athena and Zelda, who were still walking away. They used to be Zoe's best friends. But now they hated her and they hated Goths.
