After eating dinner, Jon turned on his TV to see if there were any reports of the alien invasion. The first station he caught was a local station, and the report surprised him.

"It is believed that the unknown aliens used some kind of mind-control ray that wipes out not only minds but all evidence of their passing! The speech the aliens made to the UN a day ago seems to have been totally forgotten around the entire world... But the devastation is gone too!"

The TV screen showed a picture of New York being destroyed by the aliens... and then another picture of New York, with the current time and date on it. It was still there.

"It is unknown as to why...."

But then suddenly the TV show was interrupted. The picture shifted to black and white, like an old 1950's alien invasion movie. On the screen appeared what seemed to be humans, more or less, but they were all Caucasian, had thick eyebrows, and dressed in sparkly metallic suits with an unusual symbol on the chest. One man walked in front of the camera, and began to speak.

"People of Earth, we have given you fair warning. Yet you have committed hostile acts against the remainder of our fleet, of which we detect no trace. We demand an immediate apology from the leaders of the government of Earth. However, we are willing to negotiate and our demands are now only...."

The alien's voice was shaky. He even seemed a little bit frightened.

Jon wondered. He'd never seen a movie like that! All of the fleet except for one ship, vaporized? By the humans? That was... wait a minute. He knew!

The stone had a limited range. There was no way its range could cover the whole world. So when Jon asked it to make an alien invasion fleet, it only did so within the range of the stone. Now there was one UFO, who thought that the rest of the fleet had been destroyed by Earth... because the stone had never created it in the first place! And everyone outside the city seemed to have forgotten about the invasion and repaired the damage... because the stone couldn't cause an invasion or damage anywhere except in this small area to begin with!

And not only that, his wish that things change back after 24 hours was also limited by range. If the alien ship happened to be out of the range of the stone when that part of the wish came into effect, it would stick around. If it hadn't surrendered because of the "destruction" of its fleet, Earth could be in serious trouble. At any rate, it would be nothing like any movie Jon had ever seen.

Briefly Jon wished he had created an earthquake or something else that really could happen entirely within the range of the stone....
