"Don't worry about it, Zoe. There's a one-week limit on the wish. Everything will be back to normal by next week."
"A week is too long, Jon. It ..." She suddenly thought of something. "You changed the whole family?"
"Yeah. Everyone. Everyone that lives here, anyway."
Zoe walked down the hall to Mikey's room. Mikey was their 10-year old brother. She tried to open the door, but it was locked. Mikey never locked it before. Zoe knocked.
After a few seconds, they heard some shuffling from inside, followed by the door being unlocked and Mikey yelling "Come in!"
Zoe opened the door and stepped inside. What previously had been a colorful boy's room (decorated with toys, comics, and games), had now been transformed into a near replica of her bedroom. Black sheets covered the bed, posters of heavy metal bands plastered the walls, and the video games and toys had been replaced by CDs and occult merchandise.
Mikey looked like a younger more angular version of Zoe. He now had piercings (at least the ones that Zoe could see) in his ears, nose, and bottom lip, and he was wearing black lipstick and heavy dark eye makeup. His hair had been dyed black and he wore a studded collar around his neck. He looked distinctly effeminate wearing what looked like one of Zoe's black corsets and a torn black skirt. As Mikey climbed off his bed and stood up, Zoe could see that her brother was also wearing fishnet stockings and black heeled boots.
"Okay, Zoe. What the fuck do you want?" Mikey finally asked, sounding perturbed.
Zoe turned to Jon, who was standing behind her. "You see? Why would I want a brother like that?"
