"What do you mean?" her mom asked.
Zoe heard Jon's door open behind her. She turned around and looked back into the hallway. "Jon, have you seen ..." Her jaw nearly dropped.
Her brother was a Goth boy. The more she saw him, the more she thought that she was losing her mind.
"Zoe? Are you okay?" Jon asked.
"What's happening? Why did everything change?"
Jon immediately grabbed Zoe and pulled her into the hallway and then closed his mom's bedroom door. "How do you know everything changed? If you didn't hear ..."
"Your wish?" At first, she never thought that wishes could actually come true. But after what she had seen ...
"You were spying on me. Weren't you?"
"Yeah, okay. I was. But what's going on? What did you wish for?"
"I wished that our family would become Goths, like you." He could see that Zoe wasn't very pleased. "I thought you'd be happy. Now we're the same."
"I don't want to be the same. Jon, I have no identity. With that single wish, you took it away from me."
"Well, I thought ..." Jon started.
"You thought wrong." She crossed her arms in front of her corset. "Reverse it."
"I can't. Wishes can't be reversed."
"What?"
