Mikey got home Friday late morning and dropped off his stuff in his room. A whole summer, and a longer one than when he was in public school. He let it sink in that he was now done with one year of high school. Then he decided to text Diane to rub it in. He unloaded his gear, which was basically pictures, and started to look up stuff for Japan. At 255pm, he got a text from Diane that she was on her way home. Mikey got on his bike, after yelling bye to his mom, and started his way over to Diane's. He actually got there first, and sat on the stairs up to her house for a few minutes. Her mom came out of the house, and she and Mikey made small talk until Diane came peddling up. She ran up and gave Mikey a big hug and a kiss on the lips, then said hi to her mom. Mikey and Diane walked around for hours, planning sleep overs, catching up and deciding which movies to see. They split a pizza for dinner and walked back to Diane's place. Mikey asked to use the bathroom, and took off his necklace, changing into Michelle so she could spend the night. The girls watched Beetlejuice, with Diane pestering Michelle to try painting her toenails. The girls did that together, and watched other Michael Keaton movies. There was also talk of Penny's visit, the trip to Japan and Diane's acceptance to Deerfield getting a full ride. Michelle and Diane were trying to figure out how to be roommates, without Michelle being a girl the whole time, when the sun came up. Breakfast was waffles at Diane's place before Michelle biked home.
She was getting settled in when Jon's BMW 7 series pulled in. She looked at her bike, then are the car his brother somehow won in a poker game at college. She got a little jealous, which Jon spotted getting out of the driver's seat
"Don't worry, sis, you'll get it when I'm done," said Jon taking out his dufflebag from the trunk. There was hugging all around in the kitchen, Michelle's dad talking about how excited he was to have everyone home and around the table for lunch. He wanted to make the most of the summer, since everyone was out of the house next fall. Zoe was going to Columbia, and Jon was going abroad to China his sophomore Fall semester. In fact, he was going to wander Asia between the family trip to Japan and his classes. Mikey thought Jon had all the luck. As the family was about to sit down, there was a knock at the door and Karyn came in, asking if she could join for lunch.
"Always room at the table for my third daughter, Karyn, " invited Michelle's mom. Apparently her first year at Yale was great, and she enjoyed her roommate Rory Gilmore very much. There was laughter and catching up at lunch. After a couple hours of company, the lunch table started to disband. Karyn and Jon went up to his room, and Zoe went back to hers. Michelle's mom said she had some ideas for a job this summer for Michelle. Some stores needed cashiers, the local nursing home needed a care aid. There was an internship or two around town that were still open. Michelle went upstairs to apply for the internship. One was for a software company, and the other for a marketing firm. Thankfully they both paid, so Michelle applied for both. After that, Michelle told his parents that her friend Penny would like to visit, and her parents said she was welcome any time. Michelle texted Penny, who would be visiting at the end of the summer.
That night, Michelle put on her necklace and walked over to Davis's house, and the two started to play Fortnite waiting for Henry. He got over there after dinner, and the three hung out playing games for a couple hours. Apparently, Henry was going to intern at Nintendo headquarters the whole summer and was leaving the Monday after school ended. Davis planned on enjoying the pool and mall. He was going to make a few bucks as a cashier here and there. Mikey asked if he wanted to get something done this summer, and Davis just laughed. The three boys called it a night around midnight. The next day Mikey went home and enjoyed doing just about nothing the whole day.
During the week, Jon and Mikey hung out, with Karyn sometimes stopping by. Like Jon, she was taking extra classes, getting perfect scores on tests without studying and had an active social life. When Mikey asked how they did it, the reply was
"Magic," they both said in unison.
For the second weekend Mikey was home, the girlscouts decided to go on an overnight trip. Mikey packed the day before departure. Heather insisted it was girls only, so Mikey took off the necklace and left it at home. Jennifer Diver drove them to a remote lake about an hour away, and dropped them off. She would be at a nearby hotel if needed. The girls put on their hiking packs and started their 9 mile mike to the beach and their reserved campsite. They talked a bit on the walk. Heather and Vicky joined the volleyball team and had a good season. Academically, they had a little less luck. Heather was dating a senior, who broke up with her at the end of the year. Vicky tried dating Davis again, but that only lasted 4-5 weeks, again. Krista didn't say much on the hike in.
The website said they were the only ones there for the weekend, so they spread out. After pitching a couple tents and getting firewood, they hung their non-lunch food from a tree. They broke out the lunchmeats and started to make sandwiches. There was more gossip, which Krista enjoyed more. After a bit, the conversation turned to the extra necklace, which Vicky and Heather used every few months so as not to forget. Krista used it 4 days a month. Diane said she only used it when Michelle was around. Heather asked if Diane had hers, joking that Krista's mom wouldn't catch her this time, but Diane left hers at home too.
A bit after lunch, Krista suggested a swim in the lake. Michelle went to her bag to get out her bathing suit, seeing that it became a bikini. With a sigh, he put it on. When he came to the campfire area, he saw everyone else had one too, and the girls looked good. Michelle felt her nipples get erect, and was thankful that the top of the bikini was thick enough to hide them. The girls went to swim and play on the beach.
After a bit of making sand castles and trying to make Vicky into a mermaid, Heather suggested going skinny dipping. She was quickly shot down by Diane and Michelle. Sulking, she sat on the sand for a bit. As the afternoon went on, the girls eventually made their way back to the campfire. As they were drying off, Heather took something out of her bag. It was a bottle of Kahlua and a bottle of Rum.
"How about it girls?"
"Sure, why not?" replied Krista, reaching to help Heather open the bottle of rum.
"I'm not sure this is a good idea, " said Michelle.
"Spoilsport. It's not like we are going to have it all. It's just us, we won't start the fire for a couple hours. It'll be out of our system by then."
"Count me in, " said Diane.
Heather poured 4 cups of a mixture of the two liquors. The 3 girls stared at Michelle.
"...fine." The 4 girls cheered to freshman year being done, and chugged. Heather started to pour another round.
"I thought we were just doing one, Heather." said Michelle
"Maybe you are doing one. I thought that was pretty good and wouldn't mind another."
"I'm in for another," said Diane.
"really?" asked Michelle
"Really, you prude." said Diane just before she had another cup of the stuff.
"Call me a prude, huh?" Michelle took Vicky's cup and drank it.
There was about 20-30 minutes of challenges and trash-talk before the Kahlua bottle was empty.
"Skinny dipping!" yelled Heather, taking off her top
"Skinny dipping!" replied Vicky, taking off her bottoms
"Skinny dipping!" chimed in Diane, untying her top
"Skinny dipping!" yelled Michelle, throwing her cup to the ground.
After the girl undressed, they raced to the water and dove in. After some splashing, breath-holding competitions and giggling, the sun started to go down.
"Hey guys, we should start a fire and start cooking," suggested Michelle. They got out of the water and walked back to the campsite. In various stages of dress, Krista and Michelle started the fire while the others got the food prepped. Dinner was hotdogs, steamed asparagus and some s'mores. The girls told some ghost stories while they dried off and ate. Everyone slept well that night. The next day, the girls broke down camp and hiked back to the pick up spot. They only had to wait about 20 minutes before Jennifer pulled up to pick them up.
"Get into any mischief ladies?" asked Mrs Diver
"Of course, " giggled Heather, followed by some giggling from the other girls. Krista suggested maybe going again this summer, and everyone agreed. One by one, the girls were dropped off at their homes.
