Sarah's aunt Linda unlocked the door. Sarah should be at school, and her mother Vanessa at work. At least Linda had gotten lucky--her role as a minor character on a TV show had had all her scenes filmed, so she didn't have to come in for a few days. She had decided to visit her relatives early.

Linda went up to the spare bedroom and lay her suitcase down near the bed, then left to look around. Since nobody was home yet she'd just watch TV or something... But something was wrong.

It wasn't until she saw a clip of some cheerleaders on the sports section of the afternoon newscast that she realized what was wrong. What happened to Sarah's pictures? There wasn't a single picture of Sarah in a cheerleader uniform anywhere! Why in the world would Vanessa throw all of those out?

Curious, she peeked into Sarah's room. Only not only did she not find any pictures of Sarah in a cheerleading outfit, the whole decor of the place had changed. There was a discarded Coke can in the wastebasket, even though Sarah only drank diet soda. There was a picture of Sarah with some guy she had never seen before. The calendar on the wall, which wasn't there three months ago during her last visit, showed pictures of guys from Smallville, a show that Sarah never watched. In fact, everything in the room was off in some way or another. Even the colors of some things, as if Sarah's idea of matching pillowcases and blanket had changed to slightly different shades.

Just what was going on?

(Little did Linda know that since she was from outside of the wish range, when reality changed to fit Sarah's new personality, it didn't include her.)
