It certainly seemed to surprise him as I formed two driders. Both were a full human form lighter than normal. Both clones had the "Fever" debuff and we very weak as we both tried to move down the alley. James chuckled and said "So that was your plan all along. It's not going to stop me. His face hardened as he stared me down. "I already swore to destroy you until there is no trace left. And that's what I'm going to do." He walked after me. There was a dead end and I was nowhere near fast enough to climb up the wall in my condition without him being able to stop me. I did have one ace up my sleeve. I faced away from him. "Nowhere left to run, huh!?" he asked as he got closer. That was when both driders shot their webbing at him. James was knocked back and pinned to the floor. Both of us continued to spray him with the fluid until the tanks were empty. With a 10 in it, it was going to take a while to get out. Even he seemed to be struggling. The webbing had a five minute cooldown. When that happened, we could scale the wall and get away. However, it was too much to hope for.
Seeing movement, one of the clones went to see what was happening. James was grunting as he tried to get out. He was using his Qi to burn it off. From the HP of their webs, it was going to take three minutes. Three minutes had already passed so it was cutting it close. I was going to need more than a minute to scale up such a tall building. One clone was going to have to sacrifice itself. When the webs finished cooling down, the clone nearest to him began spraying him with more. The drider at the wall turned and angled the spider half so the webbing could reach about halfway up. It then slowly began to climb using the webbing as an anchor. Even then, it was on really uneasy footing. James saw what was going on and said "You are not escaping! Come back here!" He then detonated a Wildfire Bomb and tore through the old webbing. James only had the new webbing to deal with and it was melting fast. The climbing drider got to the end and shot another sticky line to the top. If it could make it all the way to the top, it was scot free. The drider on the ground looked at him in fear.
As soon as James broke free, the clone on the ground used Barchetta and hurled Fireballs at him. It was not a matter of winning the fight, it was about stalling for time. It only had to take long enough for the drider to climb the wall. James simply blocked it with a Fire Wall and said "You were using Metal Qi before." "I ran out of it when you chased me. You then went and filled me with your Qi. Evan has Fire Qi, so I went around learning some Fire and Metal spells today. How do you like it!?" I said with a big smirk on my face. "If you think you can beat me with my own Qi, you better be able to do something better than that!" he said. He then pointed at the clone as a torrent of hot swirling flames was released at me. I blocked it with a wall of my own. I was still pushed back by the blowback of the energy. "I am going to win because I know your secret." I said. That made him pause and look at the clone on the ground. He smiled after a moment. He was calling my bluff. "What do you think my secret is? You don't know me." "Evan was easy after a few prostate orgasms." I said. That pissed him off.
The young man glared at me. "Now I know that you're lying. Even after what you did to him, I know Evan would never betray me." he said. That was true. He did not offer any information for the torture to stop. I did not ask for it, but it was still remarkable. The drider got to the top and liquified to ooze over to the door. It was safe. The other clone peeked over its shoulder and sighed in relief. It then looked back to see that James was no longer ahead of him. "You really think I'll miss a giant half spider walking around!? That is just wishful thinking." he said. James then placed both of his hands on my spider abdomen. "It looks like I was too easy on you. I will kick it up a notch and turn up the heat." he gloated as he sent even hotter Fire Qi my way. It was so thick and corrosive, it burst my meridians immediately. The energy backlash took half of my health as an explosion rocked my body. He was not done, even as I writhed in utter agony. James continued pumping me full of Qi. I was truly melting from the inside as the pressure built up in me. I switched to the one in the building before it died.
