Meanwhile, things weren't as good for Mikey as they were for Sarah. While he now had plenty more female friends (and they all looked to him for fashion advice), he didn't so much fit in with the boys at school, and that meant the occasional beatings. Thanks to his new personality, he had some new confusing feelings towards boys, and so games of 'smear the queer' at recess had become more common in his life, at least in his wish-created past. Fortunately, Mikey had also acquired Sarah's cunning, and had dealt with the boys in fantastic fashion.
By using his position as head of the popular girls' clique, he was actually able to force the boys to stop. Basically, he got the girls (well, the pretty ones, anyways), to stop speaking or interacting with, the boys. And this he told them, would last until they decided he was no longer worth their time. Needless to say, he didn't get beat up again.
On this particular day, he had chosen to wear a pair of flare-leg, hiphugger jeans with flowers embroidered on them and a pink tank top. He wore light makeup to accentuate his features. This was a pretty normal thing for him, and most of the girls thought it was cute and a little bit funny. They had no problem accepting him into their fold (it was the boys and his teachers that weren't so forgiving).
"Jessica, that is suuuuch a cute top! Where did you get it?" Mikey asked.
His new friend Jessica blushed at that. "You really think so? My mom picked it up for me at Limited Too over the weekend."
"Hmm. Well, tell your mom that she has good taste," Mikey said with a hint of condescension.
