Two more figures emerged into the waiting room. The first was Jon's younger brother Mikey, who was now walking with confidence and purpose, followed shortly by Karyn's mother, Maria, who was dragging her high-heeled feet. She stopped in her tracks and noticed a small table with magazines and comic books.
"COOL!" she shouted and half-ran half-stumbled over and grabbed an issue of "Ultra-man" and flopped down on the floor excitedly, crossing her legs, not caring that she was wearing her business skirt. Mikey sighed as he took a seat after grabbing a copy of some fashion magazine.
Karyn was about to say something when yet another door opened and in walked her younger sister, and Mikey's classmate Katie. She too had an air of authority about her as she strode over and sat by Mikey. Neither of their feet touched the floor, but as she sat down he crossed his legs so one leg was hanging over the other knee, and she rested one of her feet on her knee. Following behind her, looking rather sheepish, was Karyn's father, Andrew. He went and sat by his younger daughter for a few moments, before noticing his wife on the floor and went to join her.
"We'll that could take some getting used to" Karyn joked.
"Poor Mikey, I hope he's feeling ok." Jon replied quietly.
