As Karyn was acclimating to her new extra-curricular activity, Jon was walking home.

"Boop!"

For a split second Sarah appeared on the sidewalk before him, just enough time for her to express her onomatopoeia, and then she disappeared again.

Jon blinked. Furrowed his eyebrows. Kept walking. That was a concerning sequence of events that had just transpired, but he wasn't yet sure what it meant, or how concerned he should be.

A step forward.

"Errrrt! Wrong! Other way!"

Jon stopped, pinching the bridge of his nose as he did. He didn't even look down to check his feet. "Shoes?"

"Shoes." Sarah's voice answered in his head.

"Look," Jon reasoned, "I'm just trying to go home."

"Yes," the shoes condescended, "I know you are. But you're going. The wrong. Way."

Jon took a deep breath. "And which way should I be going?"

"Backwards a block. Turn left on Acacia Way, then another left onto Sunflower Circle. Fifth house on the right."

"That's not the way to my house," Jon argued, though he knew it was in vain.

"It is now, buddy," the shoes informed him. "You're in Sarah's shoes."

Jon felt that tingling in his feet again. Felt it shoot up his legs, into his chest, his arms, his head. And then he turned around. He walked for a block, turned right onto Acacia Way, kept going until he got to Sunflower Circle, made a left, and walked up the driveway of the fifth house on the right.

Jon stopped to marvel at the size of it. All the homes on this street were clearly worth seven figures, at least, but this one--

"NOPE!" Jon's thoughts came to a screeching halt. "This isn't special. This isn't big or fancy. You're not impressed. What weirdo stops to admire their own house?"

"It's not my--"

"GET INSIDE."

So Jon went inside.
