Jon woke an hour earlier than usual, vaguely aware of the lack of sleep he had gotten. He hopped out of bed and discarded his silk nightgown and grabbed a towel on his way to the shower. He was still too out of it to notice that he had been using what were previously his mother's scented bath lotions and soaps. He only started to realize what was going on when he caught himself shaving his legs. He finished the process and quickly stepped out of the shower.
Wrapping a towel around his chest and another one around his head, he proceeded to make a quick pass of the hallway, making sure that Mikey, Zoe, and his mother were awake. Then he proceeded to put on a light yellow blouse with capri pants similar to the ones he'd worn yesterday. Adding some light makeup to make himself look fresh, he found his appearance to be attractive, yet sensible.
He made the rounds again to make sure everyone was still up and getting ready and stopped when he passed the bathroom door. He looked in to see his mother standing there, a towel at her waist, breasts completely uncovered as she brushed her teeth.
"Hunh?" his mother said, her mouth full of toothpaste suds.
"I wish you'd cover up. Show some modesty, mother" Jon told her. But his mom just rolled her eyes and went back to brushing. Jon frowned a bit and moved on. It had been a weird moment and Jon wondered what other strange side effects his wish would have.
After making sure his brother and sister had money for lunch, and fixing his father's tie, Jon was out the door. He had almost gotten in the car when he realized that he didn't have a license. Instead, he walked down the street to the bus stop, where he saw Karyn waiting.
