The rest of Karyn's day at school was awkward at best. Although nobody except Jon knew she was responsible for what happened, pretty much all the transformed boys looked confused and embarrassed for the rest of the day. Even if they didn't admit it, they were obviously uncomfortable with their new bodies, at least for the time being. Karyn started to have doubts about whether she should have just punished Jon instead of every boy in the stone's range, but she wasn't in trouble or anything, and she had to admit it was cute to see all the girls dressed in clothes she'd usually expect guys to wear, looking scared and vulnerable.
Jen didn't meet after school to talk with her like she usually did. This worried Karyn a little. Sure she and Jon got into an argument at lunch, but he'd been her best friend for years, they were close enough to almost be siblings. Karyn hoped he (or she) wouldn't be too angry at her.
Once Karyn got home, everything felt more or less normal again, and it seemed that she wouldn't have to deal with what she wished for until the next day at school. She checked for the wishing stone in her secret hiding spot, and finding it, decided to leave it there for the time being.
The next morning Karyn was back in Mr. Thompson's first period class. Once everyone was there, he made an announcement, "Well gang, I was going to have another discussion about the chapter today, but obviously something weird as hell happened yesterday, so I think under the circumstances, we've got to make a special exception," he began. "All right, I already know the basic idea of what happened, and as crazy as it sounds, you're all convinced that you really used to be boys, right?" All the former boys expressed their agreement. "Wow, that really is weird " he said in wonder, "I remember everyone in this class except me being a girl. Well, I guess you can't all be crazy, so it must be me," This got Karyn a little worried. They were getting suspicious. People would start asking questions. Jen wouldn't rat her out would she?
"Ok girls and um boys, who wants to tell me what happened?" Mr. Thompson asked his class.
Brenda, one of the former boys raised her hand, "Really, I don't think," she stopped, trying to talk in a deeper, more androgynous voice, "I don't think anyone noticed the changes, they just sort of happened, then yesterday during lunch I don't know how to describe it, something in our brains just kind of clicked and we suddenly realized we were all chicks at the same time. Then I got home, and my little brother was a girl too! At least it happened to everyone though, it would've been worse if it was just me,"
Her friend, a former boy sitting next to her named Brianna spoke up next, "Well, I don't really care if we have to be girls forever, I mean, in a way it's kind of like getting free porn," she giggled," disgusting some, but helping others see their situation in a new light, "but I'd at least like to know how it happened. I think we're owed some kind of explanation for these..." she said, looking down at her C-cup breasts and jiggling them.
"Speak for yourself, when I find the bitch that did this I'll beat her into a bloody pulp! Who's with me?" Brenda declared.
Just then, Stephanie Farber broke down and started crying, "I don't want to spend the rest of my life as a lesbian " she sobbed.
Karyn wanted to sink down into her seat and vanish. Choosing the worst possible moment, Brianna decided to comment again, "Oh yeah, and if anyone's wondering, yes guys, we will be getting periods within the next month. I at least know that much for a fact. Hopefully it'll stop soon; I'm getting sick of it " This was answered by a chorus of groans and nervous whimpers from the former boys, while Stephanie stared at her in shock.
For the rest of the class, people just talked without getting much work done, and Mr. Thompson said that if anyone had more information, they should come and talk to him after school. Nobody had suspected Karyn, or really had any idea what kind of supernatural force caused their transformations, but she'd be meeting with Jen at lunch, where they could debate over what to do next.
