"I wish.."
"STOP! Morgana yelled, "The stone uses the life force of the user to grant wishes. Everytime you make a wish it takes a little more of your life away!"
Jon paused and looked at her in doubt.
"I already told you nothing comes for free. In order to take, you must give. That's how equilibrium is maintained! Without that balance of power the world will collapse. Cause and Effect, there is no escape from this." She said.
"Okay, let's say that I believe you. Other people must have used the stone before me what happens if you use the stone to much?" Jon asked.
Morgana sighed.
"The stone takes in your life force in order to grant your wish. The larger the wish and the more people it affects, the more life force is required. All living things have a certain amount of life force, once it's gone you die. Every time you make a wish, it takes some of your life away. Normally that would be bad enough, but this is a powerful magical item, so it has the ability to take more than all the life force you have. If you drain yourself down to nothing and make a wish, the stone with put you in the negatives. You will owe the stone life force, life force that can only be provided by the living."
"But you said that after all your life force is gone that you die, so how can you pay back the debt?"
"Simple, you need to give the stone someone elses life force. Until your debt is repaid, you will walk the earth as a wraith, neither living or dead. You will be forced to take the life force of others until your debt is repaid."
