The girl sat up slowly. Her belly button was glowing softly, though enough faintly that clothing would probably conceal it. Jon couldn't help be a little bit aroused at her nakedness, but he thought to himself This is still my daughter. Even if she is a machine and tried to dismiss the thoughts.
"Look at that," said Karyn. She pointed to the girl's blue eyes. There was also some light in them. "I think... Look in these. Closely."
Curious, Jon bent down to look in the girl's eyes, pushing aside her medium length brown hair. Then he noticed it. He could see an image. Leaning closer and awkwardly balanced next to the girl sitting on the carpet, he managed to put his own eyes to the girl's own, his face so close that he could kiss her if her lips hadn't been motionless. It was as if her eyes were the eyepieces of a pair of binoculars--looking in them he saw what seemed to be a computer screen. It was displaying all sorts of cryptic messages. "I don't understand any of this," said Jon. "I can see in here but the messages are weird. She's booting up but it's not Windows or anything I'm familiar with."
"Sure she's not running Android?" asked Karyn.
"Very funny but no. Wait, here's something. It says 'preparing for first run, of android with parents JON MADISON and INANIMATE. Select language. It only says English".
"So pick English."
"I can't. There's a menu and no mouse. Oh... If this works I'm going to...." Jon laughed. He put his hand on the girl's left breast and moved it around. The mouse cursor moved. He pressed the girl's nipple and selected English, and saw a message about voice control.
"Are you awake?" asked Jon, pulling back from her face.
"Of course I'm awake," replied the girl. Jon was startled anyway, since he was almost right on top of her and still had his hand on her breast. "You have your hand on my breast, Dad!"
Jon quickly pulled back and said "Does this bother you?"
"Yes, it does! What parent does that?"
"But you're an android. I had to do that to control you."
"Only because you had never activated me before."
"How can I program you? I mean, can I program you? Can anyone?"
"Only you can do it. You program me by giving a command that is obviously meant as a program. I can understand what people say, you know. I can tell the difference between saying 'go stand on your head' as a figure of speech and really wanting me to stand on my head."
"What if I wanted to program you to tell me how to drive somewhere and you didn't know how to drive somewhere? Could I download a map onto you?"
"I have a USB port and a SD card slot but I can also read. Come on, Dad."
"Okay, rewrite your circuits for this: you don't mind when I touch your breasts."
"Jon!" exclaimed Karyn. "She's still a girl! You shouldn't force her to do that."
"Wait a minute," said the girl. "Dad isn't forcing me to do anything. I really don't mind when he touches my breasts. It doesn't bother me at all, not any more, so you don't have to get worried. I just need to get some clothes."
Jon hesitantly touched the girl's breast. It felt human. Warm, even--it was still fairly cool before since the girl was just booting up.
"You really don't mind?" asked Karyn.
"Of course not!"
"It's still creepy," said Karyn. "Jon, you'd better take that back."
"All right. You now mind when I touch your breasts again."
The girl jerked back and said "Get your hand off me!"
"That's not what you said a minute ago," replied Jon.
"That was a minute ago. Hmph." The girl crossed her arms over her breasts. Jon lowered his gaze to her crotch, then turned away. "We have to get you some clothes," he said.
"I've been saying that," replied the girl. "Can I borrow your wishing stone, Dad? I don't want to go around naked. It's embarrassing!"
"I didn't know an android can be embarrassed."
"I'm still a person. Lend me your wishing stone. Pleeease."
"You know what my Dad says when I want to borrow his car? No."
"But a wishing stone isn't like a car. I'm not going to crash it or---"
"You don't want to use my wishing stone."
"Okay, fine, I don't need it anyway. But I still need some clothes."
"I wish that Karyn brought some spare clothes with her and they fit you. In fact, I wish you're wearing them."
The girl was instantly dressed. Her face, looking Jon's age and therefore more like his sister than his daughter, now had lipstick on her lips. She was wearing a brown tank top exposing the top of her C-cup breasts, gray jeans, a belt, hose, and black shoes. "Hey, Karyn." she said. "Got a mirror?"
"I might," said Karyn. She rummaged in her purse and found a hand mirror. She gave it to the girl, who looked at herself in it and smiled. "I look great. Well, at least I look better. Thanks, Dad. You're not forgetting anything, are you?"
"Er, you're welcome."
"That was a hint, Dad. I need a purse. I need a room to live in unless you want me to stay here. I could use some jewelry. But all that can wait. what I really need is a name. Come on, Dad, you have to name me...."
"For someone who's was born just now and is still plugged into the wall you ask for an awful lot, but you're right. I can't have a daughter without a name. So let's see...."
