The anesthesia to do a Caesarian had finally knocked Karyn out, and she had just started to wake up afterwards. Jon had finally managed to stall Caitlyn's husband long enough...
.. and they were back in their own bodies, Karyn standing right by Jon, both on the street.
"Whew," said Karyn. "It wasn't like being a pregnant man, completely, because he was still taking on the role of the woman and everyone else believed it too."
"And as for my story," said Jon, "I don't know how much detail you want to hear, but Caitlyn managed to have sex with a flower for a vagina."
"You--- you shouldn't have, Jon!"
"I shouldn't have what? Be a guy having sex with a guy?"
"You shouldn't have had sex with someone's boyfriend pretending to be her. That's close to rape. In some states it is rape."
"There's no harm done," said Jon, "and the two people should have the memories of what happened, so it's like he had sex with her and, oh, I read her mind afterwards. There's just one thing I need to do." Jon took the stone out of his pocket. Karyn watched him, not certain what he was going to do, but all he said was "I wish that any relationship problems between Caitlyn and Matthew that happened because I didn't act enough like her would be be fixed."
"I suppose that fixes some of it," said Karyn. "Do we want to change the flower or anything else back? I don't know if the targets have to be in front of us for the 'undo' to work, but if they do, you can always wish them here."
"Maybe we should," said Jon. "I think the flower's over there..." Jon pointed to a bed of tulips.
Karyn took a few steps closer and tried to find the flower with the vagina. It was nowhere to be seen and she said "I think it faded. Or it's dead, or making seeds. Do tulips make seeds anyway? I thought they have bulbs. And what about the one swapped onto the girl--does that make seeds? Wait a minute..." Karyn spotted a tulip on the far side of the bed. It obviously wasn't the one with the vagina, but it looked odd.
"What's that?" wondered Jon.
"Oh," said Karyn. "This tulip has a candy bar on the end. It's squishy like a flower but it's got a wrapper and everything."
"That's harmless," said Jon. "Wait a minute. It may be harmless, but I didn't do it. What's going on?"
"The other people!" exclaimed Karyn. "We swapped them into our bodies. We said they have to act like us. Someone who acts like us would use the Role Exchanger, right? We never wished it away for the duration. They could have swapped anything. They could even have used the stone when we would."
"That could be bad," said Jon. He took the stone from his pocket, where it still lay, and said "I wish to have a list of everything swapped or wished for by the two people in our bodies the past week." A piece of paper covered in scribbles appeared in his hand right under the stone and he examined the writing to see if the candy bar was mentioned. It was there, along with several other changes....
