Jon was equally surprised when the teacher showed up. This was science class, and he'd expected to see his usual science teacher, who could put an insomniac to sleep. But...instead, the teacher was a woman in her twenties. How was that possible? He thought about it for a second. Just because you took someone's role in a family didn't mean you became them. Some things were dictated by upbringing and genetics, but not everything clearly.
When someone wished the woman good morning, calling her Miss Robertson, he realized that this woman had taken Miss Robertson's place...and had become a teacher...however, not in the same subject, clearly. He studied her. Fit build, shoulder length brown hair...she looked like she kept in shape beneath the professional blue dress she wore. She smiled at the class with the enthusiasm of a new teacher...which was certainly an improvement on the already disillusioned Miss Robertson. She wasn't a model or anything, but Jon could imagine himself having a fantasy about this teacher...until he suddenly recognized her.
Add glasses...blond hair, diferent clothes. It was the former Kyla Leeson. He sat back. To be honest, much to his surprise...it was the first time he'd really understood anything in that class. Her enthusiasm for the subject was infectious, she was strict with the disruptive kids who sat in the back...She even played them a few clips from YouTube. It was a far cry from the shy, nervus, and somewhat unkempt teen he knew, who usually spent her time with Jay Duncan discussing sci-fi.
It was another dilemma for him. There were so many people who had been dealt a bad hand in the original timeline, who seemed to get a better one this time...of course, that seemed to mean that some people got dealt a worse one...and some, it was hard to tell. Did Carly, suddenly being in a family that was overweight...and in some aspects, clearly loving it, give her a better, worse, or just different life? the previous occupant of her position hadn't seemed to be as well-adjusted in that role as she was. So was it bad?
The only thing he was certain of right now...if Kyla stayed his teacher, he was definitely getting an A.
