When the door came down, we charged and engaged the enemy. I was now level 36, which made me more than a match for most of the NPCs that were invading. I was slashing and stabbing my way through the enemy until I encountered the first Death Knight. He drew his blade and charged at me. I dodged his opening strike and tried to counter it with one of my own. I was blocked and he locked blades with me. He had a pale skeletal mask covering his face up from the nose. He was chuckling as his demented grin widened. He unsettled me and pushed me back a step. I took a hop back to get out of the deadlock. The blade grazed me and took some health. The rapier was simply not covering what I needed at the moment. I put it away and drew the falchion the standard bearers were entitled to. Templars had a great sword, but I did not want to use one. At Master, I could choose to go get a custom two handed sword or journey on a quest for a specialized weapon. "So you are finally going to take this seriously, then." he said. "I want to win and survive. I really have no choice now." I replied.

He charged me and we traded some strikes. We blocked and parried each other multiple times. I was losing patience and rushed in. He deftly parried me and slashed me on my side. I groaned and glared at him. He then ran at me and tried a punch. I ducked under it and swept a leg. I raised my blade and brought it down. He raised his blade to block it. I leaned in to break his guard. The Death Knight kicked my knee and sent me tumbling to the ground. He slashed at me but I brought up my sword in time. He tried getting up, but I lunged at him to send us both on the ground. He reached in his robes and pulled out a dagger. He brought it down to stab me, but I rolled out the way. It was his turn to tackle me and we slashed at each other while prone. I rolled away and parried an attempt to knock me back down. He staggered and I stabbed him in the back. He was still standing and threw a hand full of dust in my face. I took several quick steps back. I tried to wipe my face but he ran in. I ducked and blindly slashed. Somehow, he flipped over me and we then stood back to back.

The knight seemed to be about my age. "You're the most fun I've had in years. What is your name!?" he said with naked excitement. "A true knight offers their name first to others." I said playfully. I could feel his back shiver with his mirth. I had become quite the amusement to make him chuckle softly. "I am Sir Blavier the Maneater, servant of Lord Gristomales and Standard Bearer of the Death Knights. Now you. Tell me your name." he said with pride. I decided to tell him. "I am Sir Canan Hawks." I said. I could feel him still immediately. "You are Canan Hawks the Fowl Necrophile!? The harbinger of Fishbourne's woe? Comrade of Daniel the Pierced Cretin!?" he demanded. The temperature between us dropped. "And what if I was?" I asked. He chuckled. "When I catch you, we will never let you die. Your vile crimes are too great to be allowed the embrace of our Lord. You will be made to suffer for eternity." he said coldly. "That does mean that you'll need to catch me. Do you really feel like you're strong enough to take me alive? That's way harder than a fight to the death, Sir." I said.

Blavier said "I'll chase you down to the ends of the world if I need to. All Death Knights will do the same." He then sighed, which I found odd. "Do I disappoint you in some way?" I asked. He shrugged and said "I was having a fun time fighting when I did not know who you are. I don't like to torture enemies. I like to eat them. Like I said, that would be much too merciful." I groaned and said "I take it that's how you got your your title." "Enough talk. It is well past time for you to go down." I gulped and we turned at the same time. I slashed at him, but he was mirroring me. He must have put all his hatred in the strike as I was staggered back after the loud clash. I raised my palm at him and shot an ice spike at him. It pierced him and it took a large chunk out of his health. He just glared at me as he smashed the ice with his blade. We fought again and while it was very close, I was able to take all the openings and disarmed him. I captured him and Zeta dragged him off to the dungeon. I ran around to where we needed more coverage. I helped with one of the siege ladders where they got a foothold.
