"Smitty! What was the override command again?" Sarah's voice echoed over the terminal wall.
She already knew, but in her own typical way, was testing her friend. She hit enter, and committed the requested change to system memory.

"DLTOVR!" Came the reply. "But you also need to specify the field you want to override, Mac!”

Smitty was right. That girl could be a good programmer someday. But she'd never be as good as Sarah.

She looked down at the file in front of her. Hm. Looks like she forgot to specify the right field on this one. That was weird. And the system just randomized what it was overriding.

How many times had she done that?

There wasn't really much she could do, but even so, she did feel a slight twinge of nervousness wash over her body and weighed her options. She was the leader, and the last thing she needed Smitty, Ted, or any of the guys to know was that she made mistakes. The best part about programming was that it was 0's and 1's, right and wrong. And if there was one thing Mac knew, she was a 1. Always right. No way would she tell anyone.

Her eyes scanned the screen and the attributes. Yuki Meshida. Graphic Designer.

And there were so many of them. From the actual career assignment, physical adjustment phases, and coaches, there were other variables like passion, satisfaction, excitement, ability. Seems the only thing that was altered in Yuki's file was her 'dedication' rating, which went from an 8 to a 6. Sarah was tasked to add points to 'competence.' Yuki was always a great student, and Dr. Cox had wanted her abilities to reflect that. Too bad she couldn't reopen the file without authorization. And that would mean being found out. Not an option.

At least if Yuki was any indication, the random changes couldn't be that bad. Sure, she might end up a little less competent and dedicated to her career, but there were worse things.

She quickly searched for #3064, scanned the file, and breathed another sigh of relief.

Amber's file hadn't changed much. Waitress, just like before. And just like she had requested. It looked like the only change was to "intensity," which was now at a 7, up from 4.

What did that mean? Sarah scanned farther down and saw that Amber's 'physical adjustment' indicated a new update; white tank top, orange stretchy shorts, sheer tights, sneakers, and a push-up bra. Wasn't it a simple black top and black pants before?

She'd have to be more careful.

Sarah took another swig of the Monster Energy Drink she kept at her desk and burped loudly, knowing she'd get a laugh.
