I was still taking everything in as we walked to Summer's car, trying to sort through my new memories. Even now, my headache was waning.
I looked back at Winter, who was staring at her phone. I couldn't get past her physical similarities to Zoe. It was uncanny. Especially given how much Summer and I looked like Sarah.
Winter was wearing a black dress with a dark gray sweater and tights, and a pair of black flats. She was missing the spikes and hard edge of the clothes that Zoe wore. I also knew that she lacked Zoe's rebellious streak, choosing to pursue art instead. Painting was her medium of choice, though she also dabbled in sculpting, music, dance...she had quite a full plate, really.
I looked to Summer, who was wearing a pink top and a gray skirt, as well as a pair of black boots with a bit of a heel. The top did show a bit of cleavage, but not nearly as much as Sarah had always shown. Her brown hair also hung loose, cascading over her shoulders.
Fashion was Summer's passion. She prided herself on her keen eye, and was always willing to give people advice. That was another deviation. Sarah had used style as a weapon more than anything. She would target those who were less informed and use that to pick them apart.
I then glanced down at myself. I was wearing a top similar to Summer's, though mine was dark brown. I was also wearing a pair of tight jeans, and Ugg boots.
I knew, from my memories, that I...that Autumn, leaned more toward technology. Computers, mostly, though I had also dabbled in editing videos and images.
"You're spacing out again." Summer said.
I smiled a bit and shook my head. "No, not really. Just thinking. Sorry."
"Whatever, get in the car spaz."
I opened the door to Summer's car, a basically brand new sedan. Our parents had gotten each of us one for our 16th birthdays, and they had served us each well. It was very likely that Winter would end up with one as well. Richie too, in a few years.
I climbed in and leaned against the back of the seat. Winter took the seat behind me, and Summer climbed in and turned on the car. We were all assaulted by very loud pop music. I recognized the song instantly. It was a favorite of ours.
Summer turned down the volume and looked at me apologetically.
"Sorry, I forgot it was up that loud."
"It's no problem. A little music would be a welcome distraction, and I don't think it'll kill me."
Summer hesitated, but then raised the volume a bit. After a few more seconds, we pulled out of the parking lot and were on our way home.
It wasn't long until we were all singing along to the songs that were coming on the radio. The experience seemed to list my sisters' spirits.
After one song ended, I leaned forward and sighed. "God I would kill for an iced coffee right now."
"Mom said no stopping anywhere." Winter said.
"Ugh, I know..." I replied, leaning back. I realized that this craving was purely from my life as Autumn. Jon had never touched any sort of coffee. Autumn, though, loved it.
"I can run out and get you some after we get you home." Summer said. "I'm not gonna bring down the wrath of mom on my head, though."
"Can't really blame you for that."
The rest of the ride was fairly quiet. We continued listening to the radio and chatted.
Finally, we arrived at our house. Winter and I exited the car, while Summer said she was going to go get some coffee. I assured her she was the best as she took off, and Winter and I went inside.
Winter headed to her room immediately, while I dug into my purse for my phone. Removing it, I found that I had received quite a few new texts. Including one from Karyn.
You get your freedom back yet?
I smiled and rolled my eyes. Yup. Just got home.
Sweet. Be there in a bit if you're up for it.
Cool. See you soon.
I headed to the living room and sat on one of the huge leather couches. I decided this would be a good place to wait for Summer and Karyn. And, hopefully, Karyn would be able to help me come up with a plan to set things right.
