(Just getting words on a page right now, I'll edit tomorrow!)
The three of them are compelled to close their eyes, as the wish takes effect. Jon's body is tense as she opens them again and looks around. Curiously, the only difference seems to be where Zoe's standing. She looks to Karen, then to Zoe, then back to Karen. The two older girls meet gazes, then Karen purses her lips and shrugs.
Right as she's about to speak, Zoe interjects. "What's going on?"
"That's what we're trying to figure out." Karen replies.
"No, I mean... Who are you, and why you and Allie just standing there? You were the girl that helped Allie clean last night, right?"
Jon stammers a response. "Zoe, how come you're so calm about..."
"YES. yeah. that's me." Karen interjects, causing a startled confusion to appear on Jon's face. "And speaking of which, Allie and I have some homework to take care of if she'll help me with this computer."
Zoe raises an eyebrow. "Alright... I guess..." She glances between the two of them. "If you need any help Allie, just let me know." With that, the younger girl tumbles into the lounge chair and picks up a magazine.
Jon is tugged to the door while whispering. "Now I'm confused, how come she's fine with this all of a sudden."
Karen just sighs. "Because she doesn't remember. You know the rules of the stone. Whatever Ryder wished apparently effected Zoe!"
"But she had the stone, and..."
"But you wished we'd remember how things really were. And apparently she didn't. Now help me get this computer to your room! Hopefully this will fix everything otherwise we'll need to confront Ryder."
Jon just nods. As the pair lean over to pick up the computer, the shimmer returns. Just as quickly, it vanishes, and just as last time the effects are not immediately apparent.
"We need to hurry." Karen insists. "The more time we waste, the more wishes Ryder can make. He may already know what it does!"
The two heft the machine, and clamber to Jon's room as quickly as their feet will carry them. Zoe shouts something about being careful before Jon's bedroom door slams, and the two girls go about plugging up the old contraption. In moments it's humming to life, and booting up. Another tingle washes across reality as another wish is felt.
"Come on... Come on...." Karen mutters. "Alright. I formally give you this computer. It's your's. It's your computer from now on, until forever. Now quick! Log in!"
Jon nods her head and clicks past the start menus bringing the desktop into view. She stares at it blankly a few moments.
"Well? Karen insists."
"I don't... It's not here."
Karen grits her teeth. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah. It should be just right here on the desktop."
Karen sighs. "I thought it was a long shot..."
"But the me's in all the other realities had, like, the same folder."
"Is it here on this one?"
Jon slowly pales. "No..."
"Well, then that wish doesn't apply here." Karen states curtly. She sighs, then wraps an arm around her distraught friend. "I'm sorry Jon...." After a fleeting moment of comfort, she breaks the silence. "You need to meet Ryder." Jon meets her gaze. "today, before he make any more wishes."
Jon nods in agreement, and pulls out her phone...
