(Author's note: In version 3, Nobody14, came up with the idea that the wish was moving people into worse lives. I wanted to sort of explore that idea differently. What people can enter Jon's life, as opposed to exit?)

He moved out of the way and looked around, suddenly lost. Everyone had changed. It was safe to say Jon knew a lot of people at school. But he didn't know everyone, and he didn't know them all well. He hadn't limited his wish to people he knew. He'd said all the girls at his school. It was clear by her body language that Melissa wasn't very familiar with him anymore.

"Hey, big bro," a voice said from behind him. "You want company walking home?" He turned. He didn't recognize the person standing there. It was a dark haired teenager, Zoe's age, obviously. She wasn't a Goth. She looked pretty average.

"Umm...sure," he said.

"Are you all right? You are looking at me weird," she said.

"Umm...nothing," he said.

Elsewhere, Zoe walked behind the school in the general direction of the parking lot, making a beeline for where several Goth girls were hanging around. "Don't you have somewhere to be?" She said to them.

The oldest of them looked at her with some disdain. ""School is over...it's none of your business," she remarked.

Zoe drew herself up to her full height. "You are still on school grounds," she told them.

The Goth shook her head, gesturing for her friends to join them. "Whatever...not like there aren't plenty of places to hang out."

"Smart move," Zoe said.

"Bitch," the Goth girl muttered as they headed off.

Zoe smiled. Maybe she was a bitch. But that's what was needed to keep order around here.
