We went back and forth for the better part of 18 minutes. I was definitely on the defensive most of the time, but I made sure to strike when I could and press any hint of an advantage. When he did back off from me, he healed himself and I would do the same when I got to critical health. He let me do it just as I did for him. For him, I was sure that he was just feinting in order to bait me in. The problem was that I had use up my two charges and he had way more. We walked toward other. I tried to slip him up by freezing the ground under him, but he just jumped over it. He then charged at me and I did the same. I was doing my best to survive the onslaught and get some counterattacks in. I thought I was doing well when I got a critical hit in the chest with my sword. He leapt back and chanted a spell. A bright light came from the sky and I ran back. When I was at a distance I thought was safe, I saw that an angel had descended. Fabien pointed at me and said "Holy angel, hear my plea. Defeat that harpy for me!" The angel nodded and flew at me. I was in trouble.
There were nine levels of angels which were grouped into three orders. Those ranks of angels were, from the highest order: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominions, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels, and Angels. I knew that all the angels were all Hermaphrodite, except for Chastity angles who were all sexless. Each of the ranks had a level qualification gap that changed with the order. For example, an angel needed to be level 10 to be an archangel and level 20 to be a Principality. A Principality needed to be level 35 to rank up to be a Power and level 50 to be a Virtue. Angels needed to be 65 to be a Dominion and level 85 to be a Throne. That also meant to be a Cherub they needed to be at least level 105. A Seraph stood at the thrones of the gods in eternal song with them, but that needed one to be level 125. For the angel to have weapons, it had to at least a level 35 Power. I was not going to win a two on one like that. I sighed because I still had to try. I met the angel and we exchanged blows. It dodged and dived at me until I was at critical health.
Both charged at me at the same time. I shot more ice spikes and erected a wall to block Fabien. He just cut the wall down in a few slashes of his blade. I grimaced as I cast a healing spell on myself as I parried the angel. That was the last of my mana. I would not be able to use any more spells. Unsurprisingly, I was defeated by the duo soon after. Grand Master Fabien Dawnbringer of the Church of the Sun held me with a blade at my neck. "I will admit that I was not expecting much from a harpy knight with the Church of the Seven Roses. However, you lasted longer than most monsters and even made me resort to calling an angel to defeat you. Take heart, and I look forward to facing you again." He then sheathed his blade and walked away the angel was dismissed and I was left to return as the vanquished foe. When I got back to the others, they were incensed. "I'll kill him for you." Leon promised me. I shook my head and said "No! Do not kill him. He is a grandmaster paladin. Just let him go like he did for me, okay." They looked confused for a second, but agreed.
